Temple Emanu-El, one of the largest Reform synagogues in New Jersey, is seeking a full-time staff member to join our team. We have 950 members, 500 students in our Religious School and 150 children in our Early Childhood Education Program. This position will be supported by the Controller and the Executive Director with direct reporting to the Controller.

Skills & Experience:

• Comfort and proficiency with multiple technologies and software including Excel, Word, Google docs
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Knowledge of ShulCloud and MIP Accounting System is a plus
• Ability to work independently and problem solve
• Display great attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
• Willingness to work as part of a motivated team across multiple departments

Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable

• Post cash receipts in ShulCloud, the Temple’s membership software system. Must be able to learn this program in a timely manner. Appropriate training will be available.
• Prepare and distribute monthly statements
• Ensure appropriate billing for Dues, Tuition, Room Rentals, Pledges
• Assist members with questions regarding their accounts.
• Provide excellent congregant/client service
• Oversee entire tax statement process
• Handle confidential Special Dues Consideration paperwork for members and reflect adjustments for approved SDC in ShulCloud

Accounts Payable:

• Responsible for entire accounts payable process using MIP Accounting System
• Create and maintain a process to ensure timely submission of invoices/expense recognition including:

Securing approvals from all departments and supervisors
Prepare checks with appropriate back-up for check signing process

• Organize and maintain accounting filing system both physical and electronic; safeguard sensitive material as directed by the Controller
• Record monthly credit card statement
• Manage Amazon account and invoice process

Additional Responsibilities

• Maintain communication and collaboration with all departments to support their work with accounts receivable and payables
• Payroll – responsibilities to be determined with Controller
• Shulcloud reporting as needed
• Coordinate office systems and equipment
• Support controller’s work including

Human Resources
Audit
Additional projects as necessary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
